Our school had a contact with NA1SS (astronaut Kevin Ford). Kevin was great talking with the students. They read off their questions quickly with solid enunciation and enthusiasm then waited excitedly for each of their responses from 200 miles above the planet. Ret. Air Force Col. Kevin Ford on the ISS was fantastic. His enthusiasm and encouragement made every student feel important, and put a smile on their faces! To hear Kevin's responses click here. (Q&A section)

Tuesday October 30th, 2012As we finally arrived on our day of contact we have worked hard to get everything ready. Students participated in practice using a local repeater and a volunteer amateur radio operator. This went very well and the students spoke clearly and make good contact with out volunteer.
The assembly was packed and the planning was a little rough, but I think...I know that all the work and all the preparation has been worth it! |
